RUN LIKE A UNICORN

Description

Ready to get off the sofa and gallop around LIttleton with some friends?  Yeah, you are!  Come frolic with us at the Unicorn Runner 5k at Clement Park to kick off your summer!  You'll earn a sweet tee shirt and a flashy unicorn finisher medal!

It's a 5k distance for all, and whether you walk, trot, canter or gallop, we'll be happy to see you!  This event also features a shorter saunter for those not quite ready to enjoy a full 5k!  The untimed 'saunter' run is long enough to get your heart rate up and be a 'real run' without being a sprint!

Costumes are encouraged and we're holding a COSTUME CONTEST for DIY costume-clad participants!

Remember to refer your friends and you can earn back up to $20 back from your registration fee.  Also - teams of 5 or more each get $5 off their registration.  So form a group and get your buddies to join you today!

Registration price INCLUDES a ticket to the Unicorn Festival on both Saturday and Sunday with ALL of the activities offered for FREE!

All the info you need about the running event is found on this site - click the menu bar or scroll to the bottom to see a listing of all page links!

Bring 5 or more items to the in-kind donation gathering on race day and you'll be entered into the race day raffle where you can win prizes!  Winners are drawn during the run and posted at the registration tent.  No need to wait around in the cold for tickets to be pulled - you'll know right away if and what you've won!!

Learn a little bit more about Blessings in a Backpack:

Mission: Blessings in a Backpack mobilizes communities, individuals, and resources to provide food on the weekends for elementary school children across America who might otherwise go hungry.

Vision: Every school-aged child in America has the nourishment needed to learn and grow. As a leader in the movement to end childhood hunger, Blessings in a Backpack strives to ensure children do not go hungry on the weekends by empowering individuals and communities to take action.

Why Do They Do It: There are more than 11 million children in this country who are at risk of hunger. The consequences of hunger are much more than a growling stomach. Poor nutrition can result in a weaker immune system, increased hospitalization, lower IQ, shorter attention spans, and lower academic achievement. Children are fed during the school week by federal government programs, but we want to make sure they’re getting nutritional meals over the weekend, too.
